SAAC Presents “The Dynamics of Gentrification”

This panel format event is designed to present a historical and contemporary perspective of the political and economic systems that contribute to housing inequities and community displacement. During a breakout session, our goal is to formulate workable strategies to ensure affordable, equitable housing and empower people of color directly affected by gentrification. Participants will leave the event with proposed policies and regulations to present as action items to city government and/or their housing authority. Citizens will be encouraged to serve on commissions and speak at council meetings as they advocate for regulated gentrification and investment in underserved communities.
